Roping Rob: GameSalad’s September App of the Month

Congratulations to Roping Rob, the September GameSalad App of the Month!
Developed by the developer team of wehaveapp.com, Roping Rob is a fun and challenging hook- throwing platform game.
Anselm Wagner and Robin Herrmann are the German developers of wehaveapp.com. They first learned about GameSalad through their professor, Thomas Wagner (none other than GameSalad’s Gamesmold) in their “App Design” class at the University of Applied Sciences at Kaiserslautern. Both Wagner and Herrmann have a deep love for games. Super Mario on the Gameboy Classic was the first game they remember playing and it’s gameplay and design laid the foundation for their future interest in the Digital Arts.
Carrying around notebooks to capture their game ideas and daydreams, Wagner and Herrman love the idea of making their imagination and fantasies come to life. Specifically, old Worms games and adventure movies inspired the making of Roping Rob; which is their first app.
Speaking on their success thus far, wehaveapp.com shared:
“As ‘Roping Rob’ is our first game, we really didn’t expect anything at all. Getting a frontpage review by toucharcade.com was already a great success and being ‘New & Noteworthy’ under games in the US was just incredible. I think ‘Rob’ was in the AppStore about a week until he got reviewed by toucharcade.com. After that he took off!”
Roping Rob is a unique game with 33 levels, multiple environments, and engaging gameplay.
The game springs to life with a vivid backstory. Robs are creatures that live below the Earth’s surface and maintain the Earth’s core for humans. Robs use their anti- gravity harpoons to traverse the Earth’s core and fuel ovens with coal. But one Rob dreams of something more…to travel to the Earth’s surface and see the sun and stars. The game begins as you help your Rob climb to the Earth’s surface with his trusty harpoon.
