iPhone still leads the way in mobile ad impressions

Covering a report by Millennial Media, Apple Insider examines the growing smartphone market and the outcome of mobile advertising efforts. The data shows that Apple products (iPhone and iPad) ranked first in mobile advertising statistics for the third quarter of 2011 and control a 28% share of all mobile ad impressions. With over 500,000 apps available in Appleās App Store, the most popular apps are music, entertainment, and mobile gaming apps. Game apps lead the iPad application category and have grown over 26% quarter-over-quarter, accumulating over 34% of application ad impressions. View more mobile ad statistics here:
