iPads move to the head of the class

A survey of U.S. technology educators reports that within the next five years iPads will outnumber computers in the classroom.

Gene Munster of Piper Jaffary polled 25 educational technology directors during a conference on the integration of technology in the classroom. This small but concentrated survey found that all surveyed educators were using iPad products and none were testing or planning to implement Andriod based tablets into their curriculum. “While this may be expected due to limited availability of Android tablets early in the tablet cycle, we also see it as evidence of Apple’s first mover advantage,” Munster said. “We also see a trend in education (which is mirrored in the enterprise) that familiarity with Apple devices among students (or employees) is causing a demand pull within institutions to also provide Apple devices.” Source: Apple Insider
