iOS game ban repealed in South Korea

South Korea has officially lifted their ban on the iOS App Store. Several years ago, they banned the South Korean App Store and sale of iOS games. The decision was based on concerns about being unable to filter objectionable content. The Games Rating Board of South Korea was responsible for the original decision. The board is a government body that rates video game and computer content for public consumption. Not only effecting iOS owners, the ban affected the ability for South Korean game developers to sell their games in their home country. The App Store is expected to thrive with game developers finally being able to sell their products. The well-timed reversal of this decision will coincide with Apple’s decision to sell the iPhone 4S in South Korea on November 11th.
