At a recent ngmoco press event, CEO Neil Young remarked on the industry shift toward mobile. Young explored the impact of tablet devices on the console gaming landscape. Young stated that, “if you look forward kind of one or maybe even two years it’s not hard to imagine that the console business in the living room is going to get disrupted by tablets in a really meaningful way.” “You know, AirPlay [Apple’s wireless streaming technology] is a little glimpse in the direction that things are going, and we want to make sure that ngmoco and DeNA are at the very forefront of that and working with the most talented people in the world.” How do you see tablets disrupting the console gaming business in the future? Do you view tablets as serving social gamers only? Or can they also service the core gaming audience? Source: IndustryGamers
