Amazon Orders More Kindle Fires

Amazon has asked their manufacturing partners to raise the input for the upcoming Kindle Fire release. Demand has been higher than previous expected and Amazon plans to add another million units on top of the four million already on order. With a total of five million Kindle Fires headed to Amazon.com before the end of the year, Amazon hopes to meet increasing demand. Some analysts are claiming that early demand for the Kindle Fire has exceeded the demand for the first iPad.

AllThingsD reports that, “a new survey conducted by ChangeWave and RBC Capital Markets found that 5 percent of the 2,600 respondents had either already preordered or were “very likely” to buy the Fire, exceeding the 4 percent who said in 2010 that they were very likely to buy the iPad.” Source: AllThingsD
