81 Million People Play Social Games Daily

In a recent survey commissioned by PopCap, the Information Solutions Group discovered that 118.5 million people play social games at least once a week. These results are up by 71% compared to last year. Also notable, the survey revealed that 81 million people are playing social games on a daily basis. 31 million of social games players are spending money on in-game purchases. This figure also represents significant growth, as it is up 86% year over year. The survey also collected data regarding the average ages of social game players. Revealing that 30% of social gamers are under 30 years of age, this percentage has also increased over previous year’s data. Source: Gamasutra
