June 2 2010, 4:04pm

Another Wednesday means a new edition of ‘Games We’re Playing‘. Here are the games from our community that have the Gendai team tethered to their iPhones/Pods/Pads. Enjoy. CodeMonkey Has Been Playing…

Archangel: Vengeance of the Makuzi Ascendancy by BeyondtheTech Have you ever wanted to pilot your own spaceship? Have dreams of the final frontier distracted you from normal life? Do you wear your Halloween uniform when its not Halloween? Archangel: Vengeance of the Makuzi Ascendancy will help you solve two of those with its awesome space themed graphics and explosions minus the lens flares. Another big plus is that you can customize your controls to how you like them… But you don’t have to take my word for it. Check out the Archangel: Vengeance of the Makuzi Ascendancy for the iPad Now! Cartoon Pinball by Jhaas You can tell a lot about a game designer through a pinball game. It probably has something to do with basic ‘Plinko’ style physics combined with active physics from player interaction and scoring all running together. It’s a good primer for all different aspects of game design. With Cartoon Pinball, Jhaas passes the test admirably. The pinball game is fun and the art is nice to look at. I’ve been playing the game all week and I’m still driven to try and beat my previous score. In my book, if you’ve made a pinball game I still want to play after 3 days, then you win. Congratulations, Jhaas, you’ve won. Get Cartoon Pinball for the iPhone or iPod Touch NOW! Khakionion Has Been Playing…

Asplosion! HD by Eastbound I’m a sucker for good chain reaction games, and Asplosion! HD is the best I’ve seen on a portable platform, even beating out Every Extend Extra. It starts out nice and simple, with some comfortable electronic music. It gets really interesting in the later levels, and the two-player mode is really fun. This is my favorite game made with GameSalad. Get Asplosion! HD for the iPad Now! Adent42 Has Been Playing…

Goro’s Way LITE by Goku9001 Extremely well made. The (not really so) bad: city background is a little busy, the platforms are a bit close (vertically), making some jumps harder than they should be. The Good: I love the bold colors, the meta story line, and solid controls. I’m gonna be buying the full version soon. Get Goro’s Way LITE for the iPhone or iPod Touch NOW! And…

Kill the King by Eastbound I pulled this up again on the plane to polish off a few levels before they make you turn off your phone. The King’s death always makes me smile. I wonder if that’s healthy. As an easter egg, I think it should randomly say “Regicide” in the Mortal Kombat voice when you win. Get Kill the King for the iPhone or iPod Touch NOW!
