Sneek Peek – The Unsubscribe Folder

October 14 2010, 8:14am

A big day-to-day frustration we have with our email is unsubscribing from stuff. It should be simple, and most of the time it is, but it can also be a real hassle. How many times have you clicked on an unsubscribe link just to be taken to a web site and asked for a username and password you don’t even remember creating? All this just so you can unsubscribe! We thought there has to be a simple solution to this problem and we have come up with one: the Unsubscribe folder. Now all you have to do is move any email from the list you want to unsubscribe from into the Unsubscribe folder. From then on, any new email from these Senders will be automatically routed to the Unsubscribe folder, keeping them out of your Inbox. In the background, we will actually try to unsubscribe you from any messages you put in that folder with a little help from our partner Lashback. If you are interested in trying it out, just follow these two simple steps: 1. Create an OIB Unsubscribe folder in your email account

For Gmail Organizer users, create a new label “OIB/Unsubscribe”

For Yahoo! Mail Organizer users, add a new folder and name it “OIB Unsubscribe”

  1. Find an email you want to unsubscribe from and move it to this new folder or apply the label. Now enjoy yet another way that Organizer helps you tame your Inbox. We will be monitoring the success of the Unsubscribe Folder, and if things go well, we look forward to introducing it a standard feature in Organizer. Thanks for your interest, and if you have any comments or questions please don’t hesitate to send us an email at help@otherinbox.com.
