Product Update – My Involvement, Events and Card Swipe
January 24 2011, 9:31am
Our team has had a busy start to the New Year. Following the release of our ePortfolio product last week, our team has just introduced another exciting addition to the OrgSync platform. Today, we are proud to release a completely revamped version of our Co-Curricular module, now called My Involvement. In addition to My Involvement, we are also rolling out a number of updates to our events module including card swiping capabilities and pre- and post event forms. My Involvement OrgSync has developed a process that serves the needs of both students and campus administrators. With the new My Involvement, students are able to effectively manage and view a synopsis of their own personal involvement on campus, reflect on their experiences, and create custom co-curricular records to showcase their involvement. Furthermore, campus administrators are able to generate reports and dashboards for individual students, selected groups of students, or all students across the entire campus. OrgSync understands that each campus is unique in their needs. In order to help make our system as flexible as possible, campus administrators have the ability to customize the approval process for My Involvement. Under the settings page, in the Umbrella Portal, each campus will be able to establish the approval process that is right for them (Campus Consultants will help with these settings during the implementation process).
Events and Card Swipe With the development of our new My Involvement module, we also made some changes to our events module. However, administrators will only see these changes. The flow chart below illustrates the involvement process, beginning with the creation of an event and ending with the ability to generate reports.
In addition, some key changes we made to our events module include:
Participation – Attendance and hours have been combined into one section called Participation Pre-Event Forms – Create a pre-event form for each event to collect desired information from students, simplify the registration process and improve the collection of payments required for event attendance. Post-Event Forms – Use post-event forms to conduct surveys that allow the event creator to collect meaningful assessment data from the students. Event creators may collect reflections and learning outcomes for the event so the users do not have to visit their My Involvement section to fill them out. Card Swiping Technology – Administrators now have the ability to use student ID card swiping technology for campus events and programs. This feature will integrate seamlessly into the events module within OrgSync to efficiently track attendance and assign timesheet hours for each student.
If you would like to learn more about our new development, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. As always, we look forward to listening to your comments, suggestions and any other feedback you may have.
