The Travels of Mr. Stone

Stephanie, Leanna, Cayce, Eric, David & Jami I started my week long travel campaign in Philadelphia for NASPA with 5 other OrgSync gurus.  Our exhibit was extremely busy in the main hall, and we constantly had visitors from both current and future partner campuses.  We also had our first annual OrgSync social at the Hard Rock Cafe where more than 100 friends came together for networking and exciting conversations. On Monday afternoon I went up to visit Pennsylvania State University @ Abington where I met with student leaders and campus professionals to see how OrgSync might fit on their campus.  Visiting campuses is one of the many things I love about spreading the OrgSync word and PSU – Abington didn’t disappoint.  They have a great small community feel and a gorgeous campus, despite the cold temperatures I faced walking around to take pictures.  The conversation during the meeting was so invigorating that we started to talk of ways to get the entire system of multiple campuses benefitting from OrgSync. Pennsylvania State University @ Abington When the rest of the OrgSync team headed back to Dallas I flew to Pacific Union College for the Adventist Student Personnel Association (ASPA) conference in Napa Valley, California.  I have been fortunate to work with Kim Canine from La Sierra University who invited me to speak during an ed session about how campuses can use OrgSync technology to reach and communicate with students.  After the presentation I was asked to speak during the business meeting for the association about how they can use OrgSync to better run the association itself given all the member campuses that have been spreading the word across our great country.  Not only will OrgSync be able to help increase year round involvement, but it will also save the association money on maintaining their website and members only intranet.  I am still impressed by all the different ways the communication tools in OrgSync can be used to run any member based organization. After the closing banquet of ASPA, where OrgSync was constantly being mentioned by all members, I headed down the mountain and into Oakland.  Before my flight out the next day I met with Mandy Benson, Assistant Director of Student Activities at Mills College on campus.  We talked in the coffee shop for a while about how they can migrate from their old system on campus over to OrgSync.  Our conversation turned into an implementation conversation before we headed off to the offices where I met and got a hug from Courtney Young-Law, Director of Student Activities, who was returning from another meeting.  After our OrgSync conversations I learned a lot about the history on campus and about the different architecture used in the bell tower. After our morning meeting I took a few campuses pictures before driving around to see campus and heading off to the airport to return to OrgSync HQ.  I am excited to be at my desk some this next week before heading off to ACPA and the adventures it always brings.
